Harry Leon Squires and His Horse Roxy

Details Harry Leon Squires and His Horse Roxy, Baylor MT, Circa 1914 20" x 24" Oil SOLD Purchase Prints & Cards "It was an honor to create this painting of Harry Squires, early pioneer, cowboy and homesteader in northeastern Montana. He is pictured with his horse Roxy. This is a piece commissioned by a grandson of Mr. Squires who provided a photo taken in 1914. As one can imagine, details in the photo were vague and lighting was sketchy, but while working on this piece I gained quite an appreciation for this fellow. Mr. Squires and Roxy are depicted standing in front of the sod homestead he built to prove up on his piece of land.
