Dusty and His String

Details Dusty and His String 24" x 36" Oil SOLD Purchase Prints & Cards This is a painting of my friend Dusty Sturm crossing the Stillwater River with his pack string. Instead of pack panniers, he slings plastic garbage cans by means of a special set up he created to work with his pack saddles. Pretty slick. Besides being a packer, Dusty is the superintendent of schools and organizes two annual pack trips with kids from the local school district. I tag along with my string and with help from the Absarokee Civics Club we take the kids into the mountains for some camping and fishing.The inspiration for this painting is from our trip last year and shows some of the country we frequent.
